Massive Haul of Counterfeit Lisha Switches Seized in Vasai; One Arrested

In a determined move to dismantle the counterfeit electrical goods trade, the Waliv Police arrested an individual involved in the illegal sale of fake Lisha Switches on Saturday, January 11th, 2025. The operation was launched following a formal complaint filed by the IPINDS Team—India’s leading body for intellectual property enforcement.

🔍 Raid and Arrest

The suspect, identified as Saurup Pahadsingh Rajput, was apprehended at Survey No. 34, Hissa No. 2/1, Dhumalnagar, in the Waliv area of Vasai East. He was allegedly involved in the unauthorized distribution of counterfeit electrical items posing as genuine Lisha products.

Acting on intelligence provided by the IPINDS team, the Waliv Police, under the leadership of SHO Mr. Dilip Kacharu, raided the premises and confiscated a substantial amount of fake electrical switches and related goods.

The case has been registered under FIR No. 0020/2025, invoking:

• Sections 51, 63, and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1957

• Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023

Officials have confirmed that the operation is part of an ongoing effort to root out illegal counterfeiting rings that threaten both consumer safety and the intellectual property rights of legitimate manufacturers.
