Massive Seizure of Fake тАЬSleep WellтАЭ Incense Products in Visakhapatnam
In a major crackdown on counterfeit goods, Visakhapatnam police have seized a substantial quantity of fake incense sticks falsely branded as тАЬSleep Well.тАЭ The raid was carried out on Bowadara Road, following a complaint filed by the IPINDS Team (Intellectual Property Investigation and Surveillance) regarding the circulation of counterfeit incense products in the region.
The operation was executed by officers from Town-I Police Station under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Mr. Gorripotu Demudu Babu. The case was officially registered under FIR No. 0015/2025.
Legal Action and Offender Details:
The accused, identified as Mr. M. Raghunadh, was allegedly running an illegal business involved in the manufacturing and sale of fake incense sticks using the reputed brand name тАЬSleep Well,тАЭ a trademark owned by Ashika Incense Inc.
Authorities have booked the offender under the Copyright Act, 1957 (Sections 63 and 65) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023 (Section 318(4)), in light of the serious infringement and consumer deception involved in the act.
