Counterfeit Gypframe Construction Products Busted in Bannerghatta Road Raid

In a major enforcement action aimed at curbing the spread of counterfeit construction materials, authorities in Bengaluru uncovered a significant cache of fake тАЬGypframe Xpert MetalтАЭ products being sold by a local trader. The raid was initiated following a formal complaint filed by the IPINDS Team on behalf of Saint Gobain India Private Limited, the legitimate brand owner of Gypframe.
The case, registered under FIR No. 0081/2025 at Magadi Road Police Station, was led by Senior Police Inspector Mr. Abishek B. The investigation zeroed in on a trading unit operating under the name Arfa Traders, located in the Arekere area on Bannerghatta Road. During the inspection, officials discovered a substantial stock of counterfeit Gypframe products being sold deceptively under the brandтАЩs identity.
Mr. Azar Khan, the individual behind the operation, is now under investigation for his alleged involvement in the unauthorized distribution of fake construction goods. Legal action has been initiated under Sections 51(1)(b) and 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957, which address intellectual property infringement and the sale of counterfeit products.
This raid not only underscores the serious threat posed by counterfeit goods to construction quality and consumer safety, but also reinforces the need for strong enforcement and brand protection across the infrastructure sector.
