Counterfeit Gypframe Construction Products Seized in Bengaluru Raid
NEWS ALERT:
In a major strike against counterfeit construction goods, authorities in Bengaluru uncovered a significant cache of fake Gypframe Xpert Metal products during an inspection at a retail outlet. The swift enforcement action followed a formal complaint lodged by the IPINDS Team on behalf of Saint Gobain India Private Limited, the official brand owner of Gypframe. The case was registered as FIR No. 0072/2025 at Suddaguntepalya Police Station, with the investigation being led by Senior Police Inspector Mr. Karthik S.
The raid targeted Mushtaq Enterprises, a retail shop located at No. 17, 8th Main, Bannerghatta Road, New Gurappana Palya. A large quantity of unauthorized construction materials falsely bearing the Gypframe branding was discovered on-site. Mr. Mushtaq, the proprietor, is currently under investigation for his suspected involvement in the sale and distribution of counterfeit goods.
Legal proceedings have been initiated under Sections 51(1)(b) and 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957, which deal with the illegal use and commercial distribution of counterfeit products.
This operation reflects the escalating threat of counterfeit interior and construction products in local markets and reinforces the urgent need for continued enforcement to ensure structural integrity, consumer safety, and brand protection.
