In a significant enforcement action targeting counterfeit industrial products, the Asansol South Police Station, acting on a formal complaint from the IPINDS Team representing Sanatan Merchants Pvt. Ltd., conducted a targeted raid at M Traders—a business allegedly dealing in fake Prithvi T.C.T Blades.

The operation, led by Senior PSI Mr. Kausir Kundo, was initiated under FIR No. 0111/2025, filed on March 19, 2025. Acting swiftly on actionable intelligence, the police raided the premises at GT Road, Bhanga Pachil, near Old Station High School, uncovering a significant cache of counterfeit blades fraudulently sold under the Prithvi brand name.

The main accused, Manoj Shah, was reportedly operating under the business name “M Traders” and found in possession of a large stock of unauthorized goods intended for public sale. These imitation products were being marketed deceptively as genuine high-performance industrial blades.

Legal proceedings have been launched under Sections 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1957, as well as Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023—highlighting the gravity of the offense, which involves not only intellectual property violation but also potential public safety risks.

This enforcement action underscores the authorities’ firm commitment to protecting brand integrity, safeguarding consumers, and disrupting counterfeit supply chains in the industrial tools sector.
