Counterfeit “Lisha” Electrical Goods Busted in Bengaluru; Major Seizure by Police and IPINDS Team

In a significant crackdown on counterfeit electrical products, Bengaluru Police, in collaboration with the IPINDS Team, dismantled a large-scale illegal operation selling fake goods under the forged brand name “Lisha”, deceptively similar to Light & Shade Electricals Pvt. Ltd.

Following credible intelligence and a formal complaint by the IPINDS (Intellectual Property Investigative and Enforcement Support) Team, the Madanayakanahalli Police Station registered FIR No. 0162/2025. The operation was spearheaded by Senior Police Constable Mr. Puneetha G.G., leading to the seizure of a substantial quantity of counterfeit electrical items from three separate locations across the city.

Raided locations include:

  • A residential unit at 3rd Cross, Madavara, Dasanapura

  • Chauhan Marketing, operated by Mr. Bishva Singh

  • Abhinaya Electric Palace, run by Mr. Dev Raj

All three premises were found stocking and retailing unauthorized electrical goods bearing the counterfeit “Lisha” branding—products that closely mimicked the trusted offerings of Light & Shade Electricals Pvt. Ltd.

Legal proceedings are now underway under the following provisions:

  • Sections 63 and 65 of the Copyright Act, 1957

  • Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023

Authorities have warned that these substandard electrical items pose serious safety risks, including fire hazards and equipment failures, due to non-compliance with certified quality standards.

“These fake electrical goods not only damage brand integrity but also endanger the lives of users,” said a senior official from the IPINDS team.

Further investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the illegal distribution network. Additional enforcement actions and arrests are anticipated as the case unfolds.

🔔 Consumer Advisory:
Consumers are strongly advised to purchase electrical goods only from authorized dealers and to verify authenticity through official brand channels. Counterfeit products can lead to property damage, injuries, and financial losses.

If you suspect a fake product, report it immediately to the nearest police station or the brand’s customer care team.

Stay alert. Buy original. Stay safe.
