Two Arrested in Meerut for Selling Counterfeit Tata and Reckitt Products
In a major operation against counterfeit trade, Meerut authorities arrested two shopkeepers for the illegal sale of fake goods under the brand names of Tata Consumer Products and Reckitt Benckiser. The raid took place on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, and was spearheaded by the IPINDS Team, an organization dedicated to the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Vishal and Prakash, who were operating from two shopsтАФShree Shayam Enterprise and Shayam KiranaтАФalong with a nearby warehouse located at Colony 286, Chanakyapuri, in the Sadar Bazar area of Meerut.
Authorities confiscated a large quantity of counterfeit consumer goods, including items fraudulently labeled under Tata Tea Premium as well as various Reckitt Benckiser household brands such as Colin, Harpic, Lizol, and Veet.
The case has been formally registered as FIR No. 0005/2025, and legal proceedings are being carried out under:

The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Mr. Mahavir Singh, who emphasized the need for increased vigilance in combating counterfeit consumer goods that jeopardize public safety and violate brand rights.
