Major Seizure of Counterfeit Crompton Panels in Patna; Crackdown on Fake Electrical Goods Continues

In a significant operation targeting counterfeit electrical products, the Gandhi Maidan Police in Patna successfully seized a substantial amount of fake Crompton control panels from the Sheikhpura area on Friday, 17th January 2025.

The raid was carried out following a formal complaint submitted by the IPINDS Team on behalf of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited, highlighting concerns over the illegal circulation of imitation Crompton-branded products.

The enforcement action, led by SHO Mr. Sitaram Prasad of the Gandhi Maidan Police Station, resulted in the arrest of Mr. Raj Kumar Yadav, who is believed to be operating a counterfeit distribution network. Officials suspect that this seizure represents only a small part of a larger illegal supply chain operating in the region.

The case has been registered under FIR No. 5117028250038/2025 and involves charges under:

  • The Copyright Act, 1957

  • The Trademark Act, 1999

  • Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023

Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are underway, and multiple leads are being pursued to uncover the full scale of the counterfeiting operation.
